CHIRPY Day Old Ducklings make great PETS $30
CHEAP 'CHEEP' CHIRPY Day Old Ducklings For Sale $30 EA 2024 These are Khaki Campbell ducklings.
See below re DUCKLINGS/DUCKS [AND DRAKES] AS GREAT VALUE PETS:
Khaki Campbell DUCKS are the PARAMOUNT EGG LAYING DUCKS. For BODY BUILDERS, duck eggs are denser in nutrients than are chook eggs, especially OMEGA -3 FATTY ACIDS. However you serve them, duck eggs are an excellent source of nutrition. Their dark yellow yolk indicates that they hold more antioxidants, more omega-3 fatty acids, and 50% more vitamin A than chicken eggs. Duck eggs offer more protein than chicken eggs, even taking size into consideration.
With the forthcoming demise of caged hens for laying eggs, and the increase in the cost of eggs to reported $15 per dozen, now is the time to buy your pet ducklings before the price increases, as more people buy ducks so they will have their own egg layers, hens or ducks. [Duck eggs are larger and taste better, and owners can keep male drakes rather than crowing roosters, so they can continue to breed their own egg layers.]
I [expect to] have Khaki Campbell ducklings to hatch on a regular schedule. for sale at $30 each.
DUCKLINGS/DUCKS [AND DRAKES] AS GREAT VALUE PETS:
I am guessing you are wanting DUCKLINGS/DUCKS/DRAKES as a pet or pets. They are great value for $30. Where else can you buy a pet for $30? Having a duckling as a pet, is great training for teaching one the responsibility to be caring for others, animal or human.
Ducks and drakes are naturally skittish and move as a group and follow the other ducks if scared. Ducklings are the same. By handling, fondling and patting them you remove their fear. There is a danger to them as their skittishness is a protection, as I explain. They can make good pets if you "condition" them by having a lot of contact with them as ducklings like nursing, fondling and patting them, [as long as you have a bag or plastic on your lap to catch the inevitable, I learnt by experience.]. That removes their fear of anyone or thing.
I had a single duckling that hatched in an incubator I made out from a polstyrene fruit box, with regulated heating and humidity. A duck had deserted its nest and eggs ten days prior so I put the partially hatched eggs in the "incubator. I forgot all about them and about 10 days later I heard a noise and wondered where it was and what it was. It was in the polystyrene box. Only one duckling had hatched. I named it Mozilla.
I would put it, that duckling, out in the yard each day, [the land had a slope] and it would fall over in the same place every day as it excitably ran to its usual area. I would bring it in at night. While I was watching TV I would often nurse it and pat it. [I learned to put a plastic bag on my lap to catch the inevitable.] It became very tame and I could pick it up as an adult drake. Because it had lost its fear and skittishness, a scrub turkey killed it, when all the other ducks just ran away.
Because crows take the duck eggs that are laid around the yard, and the ducks and ducklings can be attacked by other animals, it is a good idea to have the enclosure fully covered with chicken wire. It is cheap and effective.
Most Khaki Campbell ducks are various shades of brown. Some, a few, can actually be white with cream beak and legs, or white with black beak and legs. Some can be multi-coloured. Those few, as ducklings appear as cream. Occasionally, one can be lucky when a dark duckling grows to a varied coloured duck or drake. People find those more pleasant to view, and since they are rarer, so I am selling the "white" ducklings" for $35.
