I currently breed Silkie Bantams, and Silver Laced Wyandotte.
In Silkies I focus on producing any colour other than white, and also have a project to produce silkies that lack the Fluffy head puff by occasionally including Pekin bantam genes and selecting the offspring with less puff.
Nothing special with the Wyandotte's. They're simply a robust breed that lays a decent amount of eggs and can be used for meat as well. I focus on silver lace colour purely for my own interests.
Neither breed is being produced for show quality! Possible matings are decided based on the health and temperament of the birds above all else so they should be able to live in a family backyard and be no threat to children or adults.
